Lots of talent at the International Piano Festival

January 31, 2025 — The 2025 International Piano Festival will feature a program bringing together artists from the Americas, Europe, and Asia in a total of ten recitals, four concerts with OFUNAM, one concert with the Eduardo Mata University Youth Orchestra (OJUEM) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and three master classes. Guest pianists include Anne-Marie McDermott (USA), María Dolores Gaitán (Spain), Ricardo de la Torre (Mexico), Claudia Corona (Mexico-Germany), and the duo formed by Citlalli Guevara (Mexico) and Slavina Zhelezova (Bulgaria).

This year, the festival is integrated into the Music and Environment: Water theme, which underpins UNAM Music's 2025 programming. Throughout the performances, artists will explore the relationship between water and music through works that evoke aquatic landscapes, natural phenomena, and life cycles.

The master classes will be taught by McDermott, Gaitán, and Corona, providing a unique opportunity for music students to further their training with internationally recognized artists.
