Anne-Marie McDermott brings classical piano to Palm Beach
An afternoon of baroque brilliance
March 13, 2025
Anne-Marie McDermott is one of the most dazzling American pianists of her generation. And now she is bringing her talents to The Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach.
For over 25 years, McDermott has played concertos, recitals, and chamber music in hundreds of cities throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia.
She is an insightful interpreter of the pinnacle of the repertoire – including Baroque and Classical masterpieces by Bach, Haydn, and Beethoven, the 20th-century modernism of Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, and Scriabin, and the music of the most influential composers of our time.
The artist is currently engaged in a project to record all five Beethoven piano concertos with Mexico’s premier Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería.
For her Palm Beach recital at the Four Art’s Walter S. Gubelmann Auditorium, McDermott will present a Baroque and Baroque-inspired music program. The highlights are Bach’s English Suite No. 3 in G minor and Partita No. 2 in C minor. She’s also playing Federico Busoni’s keyboard arrangement of Bach’s Chaconne and Johannes Brahms’s variations on a theme by George Frederic Handel.
Anne-Marie McDermott will perform on March 23 at 3:00 p.m. at the Society of the Four Arts, 100 Four Arts Plaza, Palm Beach. For more, visit fourarts.org. ¦
